One of the best ways to see Carmel is on foot. You will discover over 60 hidden courtyards where many specialty shops and cafes are found.

You will also find the special charms of Carmel-by-the-Sea as you discover secret pathways, award-winning gardens, and enchanting fairy tale cottages … the homes, haunts, and history of famous artists, writers, and movie stars. Stroll along the white-sand beach. carmel by the sea shoppingOr picnic on the bluff tops over looking Carmel Beach and the Pebble Beach golf courses and coastline.

Within 15 minutes, visit Monterey with the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row as well as many other places of interest. Pebble Beach and 17-Mile Drive are within minutes. While there, meander to Pacific Grove, referred to “America’s last home town.” For a slightly longer trip, sunny Carmel Valley is a treat with ranches and orchards and the Carmel Valley Village with unique shops and restaurants. An hour will take you to Big Sur, which locals often refer to as “a state of mind”. Be prepared for a lovely day and incredible views.
